There are some 2,500 different species of palm trees. Or so a reference guide says. That notwithstanding, it is undoubtedly true that they provide an interesting assemblage of textures. This image was made in Palm Harbor, Florida during an afternoon walk with Kirby.

Lucky Peak Lake, Idaho
We did some work in Boise and once I had a free afternoon to drive around. Lucky Peak Lake (reservoir) is on the Boise River a couple miles east of downtown. State Route 21 runs alongside it and for the next dozen or more miles climbs to the top of Moses Peak. It was (is) a beautiful drive through the mountains that provided plenty of photographic opportunities.
The crystal blue skies are delightful in the color version of this image, but I like the black and white with the puffy white clouds and the interesting tonal variations throughout the image.
The Marketplace at Night
The Marketplace in downtown Springfield, Ohio is a dramatic, historical building. The often-photographed clock tower is a well-known landmark.
This photograph was made from the balcony of a nearby hotel. Post-processing was tricky as there are strong light and dark areas. The initial pass was through Aurora HDR which brightened the colors and provided greater contrast. The next pass was through Alien Skin’s Exposure X3 which handled the black and white conversion. Final touchup consisted of some dodging and burning in Photoshop CC.
