My colleague Brent and I were on a business trip to Augusta, Maine, and were flying out of Portland.
We had a couple of hours to kill before our flights, and the closest beach was at Reid State Park. It felt rather weird to walk along the beach in a business suit and dress shoes, but the beach was wonderful, and it was a worthwhile side trip.
Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine has two beautiful sand beaches: Mile and Half Mile Beaches. These beaches are located in the mid-coast region of Maine between the mouths of the Kennebec and Sheepscot Rivers. Both beaches are very linear, face southeast into the Gulf of Maine, and receive large surf. This image is from Half Mile Beach.
